Penrose Tutoring was recommended to me by a teacher. I contacted Mr. Sally and discussed my son who has received tutoring from two Learning Centers and a former teacher over the last three summers. I was concerned that little progress had been made in the past and I was frustrated with how to reach my son. After a 30 minute conversation with Mr. Sally,  I felt optimistic and I was hopeful he was the answer I was looking for over the last three summers. I discussed tutoring with my son and he was also discouraged and resistant in attending his first session, however, he was willing to meet with Mr. Sally. After the first session, my son was excited about the session and he was eager to work on his reading assignments for the week. He completed 10 sessions with Penrose Tutoring over the summer break and I can honestly report I saw immediate changes in him. First, he was excited about reading again and he displayed confidence with his reading. He also started reading complex and challenging words again and he was reading for leisure. In the past, he had lost his excitement for reading and would not attempt to read challenging words. After each session, he came home eager to complete the assigned,  reading exercises during the week and was always prepared for his next session. When school started, my son and I felt confident about him being successful this school year by using his new reading skills and techniques. As of right now, he has been successful in school. If tutoring is needed next summer, I will not hesitate in contacting Penrose Tutoring.  I would also consider Penrose Tutoring for SAT/ACT prep if those services are offered.

"We are so grateful to Randy for working with our children throughout the summer and helping them feel confident and prepared for their next school year. What began as nervous apprehension toward tutoring evolved into excited anticipation for the games and challenges that Randy presented during each session. We plan to continue with Penrose Tutoring all school year long!"

"Randy Sally tutored my son over the summer of 2016. My son was starting a new school in the fall with a more rigorous math curriculum. Randy did a fantastic job reviewing the summer homework and developing math strategies to help in solving thorny math problems. He played games with my son that strengthened his math capabilities. My son always looked forward to seeing Randy and then coming home to play the math games with me.  I would recommend Randy to anyone who has a child needing a little extra help.  His tutoring style is spot-on, and he relates so well to the kids."

"Randy Sally aka "Mr. Sally" was one of the  most memorable teachers of my daughter's  elementary  years. He filled a  classroom with  laughter and joy and  made day to day lessons  something to  be  enjoyed rather than dreaded.  There  was never a day my daughter didn't come home overjoyed with  stories from her  day.  We still talk about and cherish all the fond memories of our time spent with Randy  Sally. Thank you Mr. Sally!"

"Mr. Randy Sally was my daughter's tutor for two years. I can't say enough of his dedication, involvement and persistence, as well as his remarkable talent as an educator. We first met Mr. Sally as a teacher at Turning Point School, where my children attend. My daughter was his student in fourth grade and for the first time she liked math and was doing her homework willingly. Later on he became her private tutor and contributed enormously to her success at school. He never gave up on her even when she became distracted and uninterested. We are profoundly thankful to him and trust his judgment as an educator. Mr. Sally is an asset to any teaching environment or institution."

"If you are looking for a knowledgeable, hands on, experienced approach to tutoring for your child, I could not give a stronger recommendation than to contact Randy Sally at Penrose Tutoring. "Randy has been incredible working with both my children. He first started working with my boys over this past summer and has already had an incredible influence on them. First, he is very organized. He comes to meet with each boy with a plan, and then follows-up every session with a note to me explaining the work they did and any assessments of their work/effort. Second, he is incredibly approachable. Both boys feel very comfortable working with him and sharing their concerns and questions. Third, he has made the time very fun - despite being hard work. In working with the youngest, he made boring math fact drills a great game that my son couldn't wait to play with him! He also helped the oldest chart his progress so that he could see and feel good about his incremental improvements. Finally, he works to create online work for the boys that they can do in between meeting with him to help reinforce what they are learning, but also so he can keep tabs on their progress! I have nothing but positive comments about Randy and his extremely professional, but kid-focused approach to tutoring. I would recommend him to anyone!!"

Molly S.  Former Student
"I'm a 25 year old college grad - of course, over the years, I've had a lot of different teachers and tutors. Mr. Sally truly stands out. I still remember him as being my absolute favorite teacher and tutor in both 4th and 5th grade. Math was always a very difficult subject for me. Fortunately I had the guidance of Mr. Sally, who somehow managed to make my least favorite subject fun and easy."
Hannah K.  Former Student
"Mr. Sally is an excellent tutor and explains all material very carefully and thoroughly. I enjoyed working with him and he has encouraged me to ask him for help whenever I need."
Isabelle Y.  Former Student
"Mr. Sally is an amazing tutor-- he is funny, caring, patient and kind. He always had a way of teaching that got me to understand the material by trusting myself and my abilities. His tutoring instilled a new found confidence in me that I was able to bring to the classroom or any work I had to do independently in the future."

"I am a former student of Randy Sally and now a high school math teacher. There are some teachers you have in life, that inspire you in unimaginable ways, and that is the kind of teacher Randy is. Without knowing it at the time, he was one of the main inspirations for me to become a math teacher due to his utmost outstanding characteristics, that I now know it takes to be an excellent educator. Randy has always been a teacher that has cared deeply about his students and really invested in their growth. He is able to keep such strong, professional relationships with his students, because he is respectful, responsible, sincere and above all kind. He is also an exceptional leader that all his students hope to be a little more like. I sure know I do."

Kimberly Clarkson  Middle School Director at Moorestown Friends School
"Randy was a teacher at Turning Point for the five years during which I worked at the school. He established an amazing relationship/mentorship with his students and his classes were consistently excited about learning. Randy was a supportive colleague and always had a smile and kind word for fellow teachers. While Randy and I worked in different divisions, he in 4th grade and I in the middle school, his impact was clearly seen in the students with whom I worked who had been in his class. I would highly recommend Randy in any work with children, either within or outsid
e of a formal academic environment!"
