Did you know that the SAT & ACT focus on reasoning rather than achievement? It's true! The test will contain simple questions that are asked in a much more difficult manner. For example, "What is the definition of an integer?" would be distorted into "What is the least non-negative even integer?" Don't worry. Recommendations for ACT/SAT
Freshman year: Consultation We recommend meeting with us for a few sessions to set the stage for the proper academic focus and do's and dont's for success when beginning your testing marathon during your sophomore year. Sophomore year: PSAT/NMSQT For high school students that will take the SAT & ACT, wesuggest that you begin preparing for these tests during your sophomore year. This test parallels the SAT. It assesses math, reading, and writing skills. The scores from the PSAT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Junior Year: SAT/ACT Plan to take each test twice. The College Board will keep the highest score from each section unless you get a perfect score the first time. |
