Randy Sally
Founder/Owner/Tutor
Subjects:  Reading (phonics, fluency, comprehension), Math ( 1st - 7th), Language Arts
Randy is a seasoned educator with 28 years of classroom experience at the elementary and middle school levels.

He began his tutoring business while teaching full-time in Los Angeles, California in June 2000 when he recognized a need from his students and their parents. While in Los Angeles, he also coached football for the Santa Monica Vikings Youth Football organization.

In March 2012, he decided to return to his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and make tutoring a full-time business in order to fill the need for one-to-one instruction. However, he did not want to leave the classroom and group setting entirely so, he continues to serve as a substitute teacher. In addition to substitute teaching and tutoring, Randy also coaches.

As a standout athlete at St. Louis Country Day School (now MICDS). Randy lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track. He went on to play Division I football at Duke on a full athletic scholarship earning a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Randy’s athleticism, love of sport and passion for teaching come together on the field and court as a coach. Randy has experience coaching middle school and high school teams in football, basketball and baseball and like tutoring is available for private coaching sessions to take your child to the next level.

Megan K.
Subjects:  ACT (English & Reading)
Megan grew up in Illinois and California. In 2019, she moved to St. Louis from Los Angeles to be closer to family. Megan's parents strongly encouraged her artistic and writing abilities from an early age. Since graduating from University of California, Riverside with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Megan has worked as both an English tutor and grant writer. She currently works full-time as a job developer for people with developmental disabilities.

Although she is no longer pursuing writing as a career path, Megan loves tutoring English and writing as a side gig. She hopes to continue furthering her educational and career goals while at Penrose Tutoring, and she's excited to meet students who want to improve their writing skills and become more confident writers!

Susan Homeier
Consultant
Susan was born and raised in Webster Groves, MO. She graduated from Mary Institute (now MICDS), earned her Bachelor's degree from Tulane University and her MBA from St. Louis University.

She spent the early part of her career in finance, first in commercial banking, then trading municipal bonds and later, creating solutions and structuring bonds mainly for colleges and universities. She has served as a portfolio manager of  residential real estate and now serves as an independent business consultant.

Susan has participated in sports throughout her life including, field hockey, tennis, soccer, softball, swimming, skiing, flag football in college and as an adult she took up and was able to return to her love of riding horses.

To Susan, sports and the skills, lessons and strategies that she learned on the field, court and golf course have been valuable to navigating everyday life.

Besides sports, Susan loves animals, in addition to her beloved family pets, she fosters dogs and cats and currently volunteers with a horse rescue. Animals have an innate ability to teach us very valuable lessons, too.
